Kris Anderson Connexions Youth Forum application deadline

Are you a young woman planning to pursue documentary filmmaking as a career? Do you want the opportunity to meet and
work with mid-career and senior filmmakers and make a short documentary film that will screen at the largest documentary film
festival in Western Canada?

The Kris Anderson Connexions Youth Forum, presented by DOXA Documentary Film Festival in collaboration with the National
Film Board, is selecting 6 applicants for a 14-day immersive workshop in the art of documentary cinema. Participants will create
collaborative digital documentary stories using NFB facilities, including tools such as Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. They will be
provided with a festival pass to attend evening screenings, forums and meet with industry professionals as part of the curriculum.

The qualifying applicant must:

  • Be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident residing in British Columbia
  • Be female
  • Be 19-26 years of age
  • Provide a resume detailing your education and relevant work history

Submit:

  • A letter of reference from a former/current teacher of a film or media arts program that you’ve attended/are attending
    OR
  • A letter of reference from a mentor who can testify to your potential in filmmaking, if you have not attended a film or
    media arts program
    AND
  • A film piece that you’ve made in the past 2 years, if you have one.

Submit this completed application form with your package to the DOXA office address listed at the bottom of application form by March 21, 2011.
