British Columbia Delegation at Hot Docs 2017
Creative BC regularly provides support for BC producers to attend several national and international markets through their Passport to Markets Program. This year, Hot Docs and Creative BC are offering a new initiative to support a BC Delegation to attend Hot Docs 2017. In addition to discounted passes, benefits of being part of the BC Delegation will include:
- Hot Docs Forum and Festival Registration:
All members of our delegations are registered with Network & Conference (N&C) Passes. This includes full access to the Hot Docs Festival screenings, conference and social events. Hot Docs sells a limited number of passes, in order to guarantee receipt of a pass, all delegation members must be registered by March 10, 2017. The rate for delegation members is $450.00 (+HST) – a $200 discount over the regular N&C Pass fee. Additionally, there’s a discount for the All Access Pass at $600 (+HST) – a $295 discount over the regular fee. There’s a maximum of ten All Access Passes available for delegation members.
- Distribution Rendezvous
Delegation members also have access to apply to our Distribution Rendezvous meetings with top level distributors, sales agents and festival programmers. In order to apply to these programs delegation members will need to have completed registration.

- International Co-Production Events
Delegation members are featured attendees at these special events which feature producer-to-producer networking meetings and a variety of panels on topics such as co-production case studies and regional updates. There will also be networking opportunities such as the International Co-Production Luncheon and a private cocktail reception.
- International Co-Production Luncheon:
This private luncheon gives delegation members a chance to network with other international and Canadian producers who are interested in finding co-production partners. The luncheon is free for all delegation members.
- Featured Index for BRITISH COLUMBIAN Producer’s Projects in the digital Doc Shop market:
Each BRITISH COLUMBIAN delegation member can submit one free film to the Doc Shop, Hot Docs’ on-demand digital video library for international buyers and programmers. Each additionally submitted program will receive a 50% discount off the regular submission fee. All submitted films will be featured in a prominent playlist on the website’s homepage. The deadline to submit films for inclusion in the Doc Shop is March 20th.
- Discount hotels
Hot Docs has arranged for discounted hotel rooms at host hotel venues for the delegation, for more information including booking information and discount codes please visit our website. Discount pricing will be available while rooms last.
Host Hotel Rates: Courtyard Marriott $185 + applicable taxes, Park Hyatt $245 – $275 + applicable taxes
