Submission Deadline: Thursday, March 10, 2011
Open City London Documentary Film Festival is an international, public-minded celebration of documentary film-making at the heart of London, one of the world’s great, ‘open’ cities.
Documentary is about turning over the stones of our society. Through documentary we learn about each other: about our differences and about our similarities. Documentaries tell our stories, directly and with dramatic vividness. They engender emotional and intellectual understanding in a world that grows ever more complex yet more connected.
The festival will run from the 16th – 19th June 2011 at UCL venues in Bloomsbury and at the Renoir Cinema.
The final day of the festival will include best of fest and awards presented by the jury at a gala event. As well as new films there will be strands curated by established practitioners presenting archival films within an argued context.
