Hot Docs is pleased to announce that it will once again gather together key industry stakeholders for the Doc Summit, a half-day town hall forum taking place on Friday, May 6, during this year’s Hot Docs festival, conference and market, April 28 to May 8.
Call For Proposals
Hot Docs is calling on Canadian producers, directors, distributors, digital and broadcast execs, and policy hawks to share their ideas on the sector’s burning issues; to be at the heart of some hardcore industry introspection with an aim to building consensus and progressing beyond current obstacles.
From among many hot topics, this year’s Doc Summit Steering Committee has identified the current state of financing and distribution for POV and one-off documentaries as a key area of focus for this year’s discussion.
Please submit a short (one-page maximum) vision statement addressing your recommendations, proposed policies or strategies for the Canadian documentary industry.
Statements should focus on preferred and realistic outcomes, rather than on existing problems, and identify constructive and realistic solutions.
All statements will be taken into consideration and three or four key visions will form the basis of the debate at this year’s Summit.
Statements will be selected and presented by their authors at the Summit and key industry stakeholders will also be invited to respond to the various proposals.
In your one-page statement, please include:
- The issue
- Outcome and impact
- Contact details – Name, Address, Phone, Email
Please email the proposal to: firstname.lastname@example.org (subject line: Doc Summit Call)
Proposal Deadline: Friday, March 11, 2011
